Service and care of a forward axis and steering draughts consists in regular check of reliability of fastening and a tightening of nuts 2 (sm fig. 6.21) fingers of steering draughts, lock pins, шкворней bolts of coupling collars of cross-section steering draught; to periodic greasing шкворневого connections; to check люфтов in шкворневых connections and hinges of steering draughts, and also in check of a convergence of wheels.
At check of carving fastenings of a forward axis observe the recommended moments of an inhaling:
- Fingers of steering draughts and клиновых pins шкворней — not less than 70 Нм (7,0 кгсм);
- Bolts of coupling collars of steering draughts — 14—18 Нм (1,4—1,8 кгсм).
Check of reliability of fastening клиновых pins should attach special significance. At their easing appears люфт and the subsequent fast development of an aperture in a beam that causes of repair or beam replacement.
At greasing carrying out шкворневого connections are necessary for achieving a greasing exit in the top lug of a fist 12 through a special cut in a socket a beam-fist, and in the bottom part — from under an edge of a protective cap of the persistent bearing.
At impossibility прошприцевать шкворневое connection солидолом is recommended to be pumped over preliminary its mix of engine oil with kerosene in a proportion 1:1.
Люфт шкворня in plugs check wheel rocking in a vertical plane, the wheel thus should not concern a floor.

Шкворень and plugs require replacement in the event that their total deterioration has reached sizes of 0,5 mm. It is defined by moving of the case brake скобы (fig. 6.20 see) at wheel rocking. If moving of the top external edge of the case is more 0,5 mm replacement шкворня and plugs is necessary.
Simultaneously with check люфта in plugs шкворня check люфт a rotary fist along an axis шкворня. It is checked щупом, placed in a backlash between the top lug of a fist 12 (fig. 6.21) and an end face of a lug of a beam 15. More than 0,15 mm eliminate a backlash in size by installation of a steel adjusting lining of a corresponding thickness. And, if the measured backlash more than 1 mm, is required bearing replacement.

If at full turn of forward wheels the normal radius of turn or the tyre is not provided touch something check the maximum angle of rotation of wheels (fig. 6.23) which should be 441 for an internal wheel.
This corner is regulated by change of length of the adjusting bolts screwed in carving apertures of a flange of a fist.

Presence люфта in hinges of helmsmen тяп is not supposed. Люфт in hinges (fig. 6.22 see) it is defined by rocking of draught along an axis of a finger 1. At detection люфта hinge replacement is necessary.
At check люфта in hinges it is necessary to examine a condition of rubber protective caps carefully. Their damage leads to fast deterioration of the hinge. At detection of damages it is necessary to replace a protective cap.
The corner of a convergence of wheels is defined by a difference of the sizes And and between internal edges of tyres (fig. 6.23 see). Measurements are made in a horizontal plane at level of an axis of forward wheels. The difference between the specified sizes should be within 0—3 mm.
Adjustment of a convergence of wheels is made by change of length of cross-section steering draught. An adjustment order the following:
- To weaken bolts of coupling collars 5 (fig. 6.21 see);
- To establish a normal amount of a convergence of wheels rotation of a pipe of cross-section steering draught;
- To tighten bolts of coupling collars of tips.
