The generator works together with a contactless transistor regulator of pressure 13.3702—01* (fig. 9.15).

Measuring element of a regulator is the stabilitron VI operating transistors. The target transistor changes a current (average value) in a chain of a winding of excitation of the generator and by that supports pressure of the generator in the set limits.
Technical characteristics of a regulator of pressure
Adjustable pressure should be 13,8—14,5В at частрте rotations of the generator from 2800 to 12 000 mines-1, loading from 5 to 40 And; to temperature from–20 to +80 With.

The pressure regulator has protection against possible short circuit in a chain of a winding of excitation.
Maintenance service and repair
Maintenance service of a regulator of pressure consists in check of its parametres. Check can be made directly on the car or at the stand. For check it is necessary to have the voltmeter of a direct current with a scale till 20-30 In and by division 0,1—0,2 Century
At average frequency of rotation of the engine (1700—2000 mines-1) to include a passing light and on this mode to make pressure gauging. Pressure on a conclusion + a pressure regulator should be 13,8—14,5 In at temperature of a regulator 20 With.
If at check of a regulator of pressure the voltmeter indication does not keep within the limits specified above, it is necessary to replace a pressure regulator.
For normal work of system of the generator and a pressure regulator very much the great value has an electroconducting condition between the generator, a regulator of pressure and the storage battery, and also reliability of their connection with the case.
Therefore, before to find malfunctions in work of the generator or a pressure regulator, it is necessary to check up carefully a condition of the specified electroconducting and correctness of connection of wires. The defects which have been found out at check of conducting (a wire breakage, isolation infringement, short circuits, pollution of tips etc.), should be eliminated.
Absence зарядного a current can be caused operation of electronic protection of a regulator of pressure in case of short circuit in a chain of a winding of excitation of the generator. After elimination of short circuit regulator work is automatically restored.

Repair and adjustment of a regulator of pressure should be made by the qualified experts. Test bed E242 is for this purpose necessary or to make the stand equipped with the electric motor for rotation of the generator 161.3701 with smooth change of frequency to 3000 mines-1, the storage battery, the resistor (lamp or wire) for creation токовой loadings to 20 And and the device for check of semi-conductor devices. The scheme of the elementary stand for check of a regulator of pressure is shown on fig. 9.16.
For check it is necessary to include the switch 5 and smoothly to increase frequency of rotation of the generator to 3000 mines-1. Then to include the switch 6 and the resistor 7 to create loading 20 And under the index of a current 2. The pressure regulated by a regulator, will show the voltmeter 3.

The scheme of check of a regulator of pressure is shown on fig. 9.17. Before inclusion of the switch the resistor 5 should have resistance 4 Ohm.

If the regulator does not regulate pressure of the generator first of all it is necessary to check up a stabilitron, and then other semi-conductor devices. If the regulator does not provide normal excitation of the generator (in a chain of a winding of excitation the current does not arrive) first of all it is necessary to check up the target transistor and if necessary the others.
Faulty semi-conductor devices are subject to replacement.
