For cowl deduction the lock serves in the closed position at car movement 9 cowls (fig. 10.19) штыревого type which fastens to the top panel of a radiator. For opening of the lock of a cowl there is the remote drive fixed on the left forward rack of a cabin under the panel of devices. For opening of the lock of a cowl it is necessary to pull the drive handle on itself; the latch of the lock of a cowl should move against the stop and release the probe of the lock of a cowl — a cowl will rise on 30 — 36 mm. After opening of the lock it is necessary to return the drive handle in a starting position, accordingly should return to a starting position and a lock latch, but under the influence of a latch spring.
The cowl probe, probe flange, spring and probe stopper are fixed on a cowl. At correct installation of a cowl, performance of necessary adjustments the cowl probe should enter freely into a cup of the lock and accurately be fixed by a latch in the closed position. At correctly adjusted probe the cowl should to have in the closed position moving on edge of 1-2 mm.
For protection from casual opening of a cowl at movement the hook-safety lock fixed on a cowl and entering into gearing with the lock of a cowl serves. Adjustment of gearing of a hook-safety lock with the lock to make подгибкой a hook.
Adjustment of the lock of a cowl and its details to make in cases of replacement (repair) of the cowl, the lock and a lock drive.
In the first case adjustments of the probe of the lock of a cowl and a hook-safety lock and small longitudinal adjustment of the lock are made basically.
In the second and third cases at first regulate drive work (that the lock latch moved against the stop), and then carry out probe and hook-safety lock adjustments.
Before car operation it is necessary to check up work of the lock for what a hand to take away to the right a lock latch at an open cowl, and then it to release; under the influence of a spring the latch should come back in extreme left position against the stop in the case. If it does not occur, it is necessary to remove the lock and to saw a groove under a latch that it reached against the stop in the lock case. After that the lock to establish on a former place.
After check of work of the lock to check up drive work for what at an open cowl the drive handle to pull on itself and to leave it in this position; the lock latch should move to the right and completely release a cup of the lock for an exit of the probe of a cowl. If it does not occur, it is necessary to "straighten" the end of draught of a drive of the lock of a cowl, to weaken a bolt 11 and to remove a nut 10. The handle of a drive of the lock of a cowl to return in a starting position, to take flat-nose pliers and to pull draught on itself as far as possible, and then it to fix a nut 10 and a bolt 11 and again to check up drive work. At positive result the end of draught of a drive to bend for prevention of moving of a nut 10.
The lock does not demand special service. At effort increase at opening of the lock a cowl while in service it is necessary to disconnect a drive of the lock from the lock as it is described above, скобы a drive, bolts of fastening of a drive, to remove all drive from the car, to release draught, to clear it and to wipe, then to grease with greasing ЦИАТИМ-201, or LITS, or Litol-24. To collect a drive, to establish it into place and to execute the recommendations resulted above.
